Biography

Xavier Hernandez (born August 2, 1990), better known as chico star, is a Cuban/Puerto Rican - American hip hop record producer from Miami, Florida. chico star is also the vice president of bdl4life entertainment. he is best known for producing "lawsuit" by black ice & Jadakiss, as well as various other well-known projects in Miami & Orlando hip-hop scenes. aside from producing, he is also an a&r and audio engineer.

 

 

 

chico began making beats at the age of 12, & thus introducing him to a new passion, music production. this lead him to attend full sail university for recording arts, and seriously pursue a career in music production at the age of 18. at 19, star was signed to his first music production company, Jaryll Avid Music Group. from then until mid-2011, he spent his time working with numerous artists in the central Florida area such as Cremro, Remedy Da Franchise, Jawaan, LaRue, Conscious Minds Records & many more.

In the fall of 2011, Hernandez returned to Miami and started working with YouTube sensation & Lil' Haiti recording artist Steven Jo. Which lead to him being the major contributor to "the best rapper" mixtape Steven Jo released in 2012. he spent 2011-2012 working with the Haitian American artist, mixing the majority of his releases as well as producing some instrumentals that go on to gain millions of views on YouTube. 

in 2013, Chico Star joins bdl4life Entertainment & Black Ice and started recording new material with the Miami recording artist for his upcoming release "The Real Miami". 

He also goes on to mix & master another Black Ice single titled "Pussy Gold" which earns him mixing credits with Lil' Scrappy, & Royce Rizzy. Both were featured on the singles' 2nd & 3rd verse, as well as the chorus. 

From then until 2017, he goes on to produce singles to gain production credits with likes of Chris Rivers, Termanology, Stevie Sarado, Boats Simms, & many more. He is currently working on a duo album with Cuban-American Miami recording artist Chico Black, to be titled "I Am Miami". 

 

He is also working on new material with Boston veteran MC, Termanology.
